Brennan Jacobson

2025
Bachelors in Graphic Design

Biography

Brennan bumped into Graphic Design almost entirely by accident. He entered higher education at Illinois State University undeclared, then swapped to an Anthropology Major. He transferred to Illinois Central College and attempted a Librarian certification course, during which he became more familiar with the Dewey Decimal system then he wanted to be. Exploring his options, he took a beginner Graphic Design course and was captivated. He transferred from ICC to Bradley University in order to finish his Bachelor’s in Studio Art Graphic Design with a Minor in Social Media Marketing. He greatly enjoys the process of trial and error that comes with design, constantly tweaking a piece, nudging it into its final form. Watching a piece develop over time provokes a feeling he can’t describe with words. He hopes to start a career in Design, ideally gathering experience at a place where he can gather tips and learn to see things from new angles.

Artist's Statement

I find my art, my design, is evidence of learning. When I look back at what I’ve done, I often find mistakes. Mistakes that I didn’t recognize at the time, but now do. Every piece contains a lesson and a reminder. Experience is built upon a thousand building blocks, and I will go on making lessons for my future self as I continue to grow.
